Final Expense Insurance

Final expense insurance — small whole-life policies sized at $2,000 to $35,000 and pitched on a guaranteed-issue or simplified-issue basis — exists because the carrier can collect premiums for decades from buyers who will collect a death benefit smaller than the cumulative premiums paid. If your Tier 1 sweep already holds two months of operating cash, the product is irrelevant — that float covers funeral and final-expense costs many times over. Skip the product; pre-instruct an executor or trustee instead (section “Digital Estate and Incapacity Planning” covers the incapacity/death access mechanics).
